So, today I drove to Huntsville to catch 5 or so hours of Con*Stellation, which was a great deal of fun. I left a little after 10, and got there right about 12.
I went to What Not to Submit, Mentoring: Writers Helping Writers, Myths for the Future, and Your Brain is a Quantum Computer, which was really freaking cool. Microtubules, y'all. All of the panels were great fun, and I learned things I didn't know and picked up some new names of authors to add to my (already huge) to be read pile.
Around 4:45 or so, I crossed the street to get a little barbeque and ended up eating with Stephanie Osborn, whose upcoming novel Burnout I look forward to reading in April, and Jim (whose last name I didn't catch, d'oh), both of whom know a lot more about physics than I do. Then I drove home.
This is only the second con I've been to (the first was OmegaCon back in March), and I really, really like them. I like going to panels and listening to writers talk about writing, I like checking out the art in the dealer's room, I like finding out about authors with whom I'm not familiar. Now I'm looking forward to the next.
